Substitute Teacher
Description of Duties:
Under broad supervision, performs duties including but not limited to: follow lesson plans provided by the Teacher; provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan; manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment; adapt teaching methods to fit the needs for each individual student; supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the hallways, on the playground and in the cafeteria.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED and participate in substitute teacher professional learning provided by the school.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following: Fluency in ASL and knowledge of students with additional disabilities and ability to teach students on different levels
Salary/Benefits:
Part-time hourly position with less than 29 hours a week; Hourly pay rate of $20-$35 is commensurate with education level, employment experience, and specific job duties.
