Speech Language Pathologist

Description of Duties:

Under general supervision, provides speech-language therapy services, including developing and implementing objectives on students’ Individual Education Plans. Duties include assessment, therapy service provision within the classroom as well as therapy room, and provision of written documentation regarding student progress quarterly and annually. Responsible for assessment and treatment of speech, language and communication, voice, fluency and other related disorders.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain Georgia Professional Educator Certification in the area of Speech Language Pathology
  • Applicants must exhibit the ability to communicate in American Sign Language during the interview with the expectation of obtaining an American Sign Language Proficiency Instrument (ASLPI) rating of 3 or above within three years from date of hire

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

  • Experience working with students with varying degrees of ability levels
  • At least Three (3) years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • ASL proficiency at 3+ or above as measured by the American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI


This is a 10-month position paid on a 12-month basis according to the Georgia Teacher Salary Schedule based on teaching certification and creditable years of experience.
