Student athlete's participation in the Athletic program is an educational experience for students which help them to develop good sportsmanship and leadership skills. Student-athlete participants are expected to model citizenship and to represent their schools in such a manner that parents, teachers, and the community will be proud of their achievements.
Hello, my name is Katie Davis and I am the new Recreation and Athletic Director at the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf. I am thrilled to be part of AASD Recreation programs and the Athletics program. I graduated from the University of Georgia with bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and also graduated from Georgia State University with a master’s degree in Deaf Education. I am the oldest of four girls in my family. Even though my Dad ended up with four daughters, with his love for sports, we all played at least three sports growing up. I played softball, basketball, tennis, and track. I have been married to a football player from UCF since August 2016. We are very active by going to boot camps, playing ALTA tennis, flag football, and slow pitch softball. My life is full of sports and hobbies. I can’t wait to share my love for sports and recreation with the students at AASD!
