Degrees and Certifications:
Hello! My name is Adam Garfinkel and I am the Transition Coordinator at the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf. I graduated with B.S. and MSW from the State University of New York at the College of Buffalo and Stony Brook University. In addition, I also earned a Master of Science in Secondary Education (MSSE) for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing from the National Technical Institute of the Deaf in 2004. I was born deaf to a hearing family and grew up in Oceanside, New York.
I have been with the Transition Department since 2009. I really enjoy working with students (grades 8-12) and their families. One of my primary roles as a Transition Coordinator is to focus on helping students to be successful academically, emotionally, and socially both in school and in life so that they can succeed in their transition from school to college and/or work.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for any assistance.
